What the codes mean

The small print at the bottom of the Morningtide card (#100).

100

  • 100Collector number: this card's place in the set list. Main-set cards print it over the set's card count.

Cards from 1998 to mid-2014 print the collector number over the set's card count (like 90/383) next to the copyright line. They have no rarity letter, set code or language code: the set symbol and its colour show the set and rarity.

Rulings (3)

  1. 2008-04-01

Spells and abilities that prevent damage or regenerate the targeted creature must be cast or activated before the creature type is chosen.

  2. 2008-04-01

You choose a target for this spell as you cast it, but you don't choose a creature type until the spell resolves.

  3. 2008-04-01

Note that this spell counts the number of permanents you control of the chosen type, not just the number of creatures you control. It will also take your kindred permanents of the chosen type into account.
