What the codes mean

The small print at the bottom of the Archenemy Schemes card (#34★).

34

  • 34Collector number, as Scryfall lists it. The printed form can differ on promos and special products.
  • ★Scryfall's label for the foil version of this card, listed apart from the non-foil one.

Cards from 1998 to mid-2014 print the collector number over the set's card count (like 90/383) next to the copyright line. They have no rarity letter, set code or language code: the set symbol and its colour show the set and rarity.

Each opponent who can sacrifice a creature must do so, and thus won’t discard any cards. Each opponent who can’t sacrifice a creature (either because they don’t control any, or because they control Tajuru Preserver) will wind up discarding two cards. Your opponents have no choice in the matter.
